Paula's Story
I left Waverly after graduation in 1963. I was married in 1964 in California. My husband and I have 4 children, ages 45, 40, 34 and 28. The oldest is a girl and the rest are boys. We have 1 Granddaughter and one great granddaughter .I became one of Jehovah's Witnesses when I moved to California in 1963. I have spent a lot of my time going door to door and telling people about some of the wonderful things that the Bible says are in store for mankind. For instance there is no "end of the world" only the end of bad people which will make it possible for "the meek" to inherit the earth.There is also no "Rapture" this term is not found in the Bible.There is a heavenly hope for a very small amount of people, the rest of mankind will have the chance to live forever on an earth that is free from death and sickness. If any of these ideas appeal to you please contact Jehovah's Witnesses in your area and ask for the book "What does the Bible really teach?"
This is a more recent update to my life. In 2013 my husband of 48 years died of complications from a severe heart attack. I lived in the San Bernadino Mountains at the time and I was going to stay there because it is so beautiful and it reminds me of Waverly, green and lots of trees. However to our h...Expand for more
orror my daughters husband died only five months after my husband of pancreatic cancer. So we were left with no husbands, fortunately 2 of my 3 sons live close to us and help us with the big stuff that we can't handle. I also decided to move from the mountains to where my daughter lives in Yucca Valley, a high desert town. We support each other and we are recovering from the trauma of 2013. In october 2014 my daughter and I visited my brothers David and Fran Connor and various cousins and nieces and nephews. I had not been back to Waverly since 1988. It still looked pretty much the same, except for my Grandparents big old house at 458 Pennsylvania Ave. It looked like the circus had come to town and just wrecked the beauty of this old house by painting it some awful colors.I may go back again in the fall .
I am coming out again if all goes well in December 1-9 to visit my brothers. I will stay with my brother Fran Connor. This writing is August 26th 2015, I hope I might run into some old classmates who still live in Waverly..
Further update, I visited my brother Fran Connor again in December 2015. I did get to see one old classmate, Pat Schamel , he looks great and is a physcians assistant, we had lunch together, Pat has had an interesting life.
